In This Moment (Timeless: Book 2)

A Timeless Journey of Faith and Choice

Have you ever finished a book and wished there was a button to turn back the clock so you could re-read it for the first time? In This Moment is that book for me!

There is a reason this series is called Timeless! Gabrielle Meyer brings history to life with yet another fabulous time-crossing narrative with not two but THREE time periods!!

Synopsis: Maggie inherited a gift from her time-crossing parents that allows her to live three separate lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each night she goes to sleep in one time period and wakes up in another. Until, that is, she turns twenty-one, when she will have to forfeit two of those lives — and everyone she knows in them — forever.

In 1861, Maggie is the daughter of an influential senator at the outbreak of the Civil War, navigating a capital full of Southern spies and wounded soldiers. In 1941, she is a Navy nurse, grappling with her knowledge of the future when she’s asked to join a hospital ship being sent to Pearl Harbor. And in 2001, she’s a brilliant young medical student, fulfilling her dream of becoming a surgeon, yet unable to use her modern skills in her other paths.

While Maggie has sworn off romance until she makes her final choice, an intriguing man tugs at her heart in each era. The mysterious British gentleman. The prickly, demanding doctor. The charming young congressman. She’s drawn to each man in different ways, only complicating the impossible decision she must make, which looms ever closer.

With so much on the line, how can Maggie choose just one life to keep and the rest to lose?

“It sounds like each of your lives prepared you for the plans God has for you.” ~ Gabrielle Meyer

In This Moment is one of those books that will leave readers speechless yet simultaneously desperate to shout its praise from the top of a mountain! I wasn’t sure how Gabrielle Meyer would juggle three time periods without making things confusing, but she did a PHENOMENAL job immersing me in the sights, sounds, emotions, and history of each era without leaving me feeling overwhelmed. I knew exactly what was happening and felt excited at the start of each chapter when Maggie would wake in one of her three lives. Though Maggie was unquestionably the shining star with her selflessness and unwavering desire to help others, the supporting characters were equally enchanting and relatable. Like Maggie, I also struggled to determine which life she should choose because they all had qualities that made them great choices. In the end, I think she made a perfect choice, though that’s all I’m going to say about that! 😉

“No matter where you decide to stay, Maggie, you will be a blessing, and that’s exactly why you were created.” ~ Gabrielle Meyer

Every page of this book was sensational, but my favorite part of In This Moment was its incredible message of faith and trusting in the Lord that truly set it apart. Through Maggie’s decision, Gabrielle Meyer reminded me of the importance of relying on God’s guidance and surrendering my doubts and fears to Him. The underlying theme of choosing the right path without guilt or doubt also resonated with me deeply.

“It is not your job to fix all the pain in the world, Maggie Hollingsworth. You have been given a special gift, and it carries with it a lot of responsibility, but perhaps God is trying to teach you how to let go and trust Him. Not only with your life, but with the lives of everyone you love.” ~ Gabrielle Meyer

In This Moment is a must-read! If you enjoy historical fiction, romance, faith-based storylines, great world-building, and quality writing, then don’t waste another second twiddling your thumbs when you could be turning the pages of this marvelous book! I cannot wait to see which historical events and adventures await us in book three — I’m already counting down to next year!

“We’re all trying to make sense of life. God has given each of us a unique path, one that draws us closer to Him because of the uncertainties and challenges. You’re no different. We all make mistakes and have regrets, but I admire you because you are seeking God’s will. You could have told Him a long time ago what you wanted, but you didn’t. You desire to know what He wants.” ~ Gabrielle Meyer
