If you’d told me a year ago that I’d enjoy living in Israel, I would’ve laughed. After fourteen years in the Land, I was tired. Tired of being an outsider, surviving rather than thriving, not being able to communicate, and scanning the streets for the nearest bomb shelter. I wanted a life of my own, with a community of people my age, in a language I understood, and in a place where I wasn’t afraid of attacks. Surely that life couldn’t be found in Israel…. Right?Fast forward eleven months, and by God’s grace, my perspective has undergone a complete 180-degree shift. For the first time since moving to Israel, I’m seeing through restored eyes. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hardships to overcome here, but my ten months away showed me that while we can settle anywhere and be content, that doesn’t mean the loneliness and misunderstandings vanish. The real question is: Are we in the right place to break through those feelings to make an impact?I’d like to think I made a difference while I was in Wales, and I truly enjoyed my season there. But when the New Year arrived, and I had to watch Israel mourn and celebrate the release of hostages during the ceasefire from afar, my heart cried to return. This emotional reaction surprised me because I’d spent years asking God to take me out of Israel. I expected to leave without a second glance. But the longer I was away, the stronger the longing to return home became.What made that absence harder was that no one around me could truly understand the turmoil I felt. While some were sympathetic, most quickly moved on. In their eyes, the war was only happening in the Middle East. But a simple walk through their cities or a glance at the headlines showed that the battle was already on their doorstep.In a recent conversation with a friend, I admitted that I’d rather face daily missile attacks than walk through Europe and face antisemitic hate. Why? Because when the sirens sound, everyone — Jew, Christian, Muslim, atheist — is affected. But when pro-Palestinians attack a Jew or Israel supporter, it’s isolated. It’s dismissed. People walk by because they don’t think it’s their problem.I thought leaving Israel meant finding peace and safety, but I quickly learned that I had a new battle to fight. As antisemitic attacks increase worldwide, we cannot separate Israel and Jew hate as though they are not one and the same! It’s 2025, and our society is failing to stand with its neighbors, speak up against hate and discrimination, or take action when someone is in trouble. Where are today’s Good Samaritans?“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” ~ Galatians 6:9-10To those who live in the Land, have family here, or carry this place in their hearts: keep standing firm and sharing your story with others. Although it doesn’t feel like it, more people are standing with you than against you. Nevertheless, I understand how exhausting it is to defend oneself, hide your Magen David or Chai (life) necklaces, and remain on constant alert. I hope you can find others going through similar things so you can lean on one another, because we cannot do this journey alone. As Erin Phillips wrote in her latest book, The Betrayal of Eden, “Sometimes what people need most isn’t to be saved. Just to have their struggle known eases the pain.”To my Yeshua-believing brothers and sisters — especially those who haven’t visited Israel or who don’t yet understand the Land’s significance — I urge you to ask God to reveal His heart for Israel through His Word and begin having genuine conversations with Messianic believers and Israelis. Not to debate but to listen. Even if you don’t know what to say or how to relate, simply showing interest and being present is a powerful way to bridge the gap.It’s not enough to say, “I support Israel,” while ignoring the antisemitism rising in your own streets — or overlooking the hurting brothers and sisters beside you who are carrying the weight of war alone. We don’t need token gestures or well-meaning slogans. We need solidarity. We need believers who are willing to listen, learn, and act. Because this war isn’t just Israel’s, it’s yours too! You are part of us. We are one Body. And it’s time to start living like it!“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” ~ Galatians 3:26-29I’m not the same person I was a year ago, and I’m so grateful for the restorative work God is doing on my heart. The last fifteen years have affected me more than I realized. As a kid, I listened to Bible stories and thought of Israel as a far-off land. When we moved here, I got excited about walking where Yeshua walked, but I could have taken it or left it. Now, as an adult, I don’t think I could stay away for long. This nation is engraved on my heart, and being back has ignited a fire in me like never before!Since returning home, I’ve watched the Lord answer my prayers and reshape my life here. I’ve been welcomed into a community, gained new friends, gone on adventures that highlighted His goodness, walked the streets without fear, and no longer resent Hebrew. It’s as if God were waiting for me to jump in with both feet before unlocking the blessings that come with obedience. Each day is a new opportunity to learn, encourage, and speak truth.Though my heart longs to stay in Israel, I’m scheduled to return to the UK for a short visit at the end of this month. As antisemitic attacks increase worldwide, we cannot separate Israel and Jew hate as though they are not one and the same! It’s 2025, and our society is failing to stand with its neighbors, speak up against hate and discrimination, or take action when someone is in trouble. No shooting and no injuries. )💩FAKE MASSACRE REPORTING makes headline news worldwide:CNN (and on the BBC, etc) - “At least 31 Palestinians killed after Israeli forces open fire near Gaza aid distribution center, health workers say.”“At least 31 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured amid chaotic scenes at an aid distribution site run by a US-backed private foundation in southern Gaza on Sunday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.The HAMAS health ministry blamed the Israeli military for the deaths. Some witnesses claimed that security personnel at the distribution hub had also opened fire. The HAMAS health ministry said that more than 200 casualties had reached hospitals, including dozens with serious injuries. It added that all those killed had been shot in the head or chest.”REALITY - See attached video: “The security cameras from the distribution site number 1 at the time of the alleged fatal shooting. About last night… I’m still gathering my thoughts after an incredible worship night at Kehilat HaCarmel on Mount Carmel. When I flew back to Israel, I told God how much I’d miss the worship in Newport and asked if He’d open the door for me to attend one of @soluisrael’s events. A few weeks later, I found myself singing praise to Elohim in Arabic, Hebrew, and English with believers from all over the world. Talk about an answered prayer!There’s truly nothing like coming together as ONE in Messiah, lifting our voices in our native tongues. More than once, my breath caught and tears welled in my eyes at the beauty unfolding around me — it felt like a glimpse of Heaven.As we enter the season of Shavuot, I’m thanking God for His goodness and for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Even when sirens sounded as missiles were launched by those who want us destroyed, we worshipped without fear because we know God holds the victory!I didn’t realize how much I’d missed Israel until I came home. Nights like this remind me what it means to be a community of believers, serving Yeshua and one another in love. It was such a blessing to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. Book Review 📖 - In The Betrayal of Eden, the first installment in the Grimoire and Key trilogy, Erin Phillips delivers a bold and atmospheric reimagining of The Count of Monte Cristo, transforming Alexandre Dumas’ classic tale into a dark fantasy laced with magic, betrayal, and slow-burn vengeance.Although I haven’t read Dumas’ original novel, I found The Betrayal of Eden to be fresh, ambitious, and full of promise. Erin Phillips brings a clear and creative vision to this retelling. Her prose is immersive, her world-building richly developed, and her characters perfectly imperfect. It’s not easy to reimagine a literary classic, but Phillips does so with originality and care. I admire her storytelling and the risks she took to make this narrative her own.Does vengeance ever bring justice? Or does it only prolong the pain and perpetuate the cycle? After ten transformative months in the UK, I flew back to Israel two weeks ago for a long-awaited reunion with my family. While it was bittersweet to leave Newport, I’m so grateful for how God used that time to bring healing, growth, joy, and rest. I was only meant to stay for three months, but God had other plans, and every extra day was a lesson in His perfect timing.When I boarded the plane last July, I didn’t know if I’d ever return to Israel — or if I’d have a home to return to since the war was intensifying. Even before October 7th, I pleaded with God to open a door for me to leave. When that door finally opened, I ran through it only to find my heart longing to return. After nearly 10 months away, I finally landed back in Israel yesterday and reunited with my family! 🥳Leaving Newport was bittersweet. I didn’t expect to stay there as long as I did, but God knew exactly what I needed. Each extra day was a blessing, and His timing, as always, was perfect! Saying goodbye to the Wright family was not easy. They were truly a godsend, wrapping me in love, hospitality, and friendship when I needed it most. I will forever be grateful to them and also those at Warehouse Church who made me feel welcomed back to my hometown. 🥰When I left Israel, I was carrying so much fear and exhaustion. I didn’t know if I’d ever feel ready to come back, but these months were a season of healing. As the plane touched down, I was listening to Brandon Lake’s song, Fear Is Not My Future, and felt Yeshua’s peace, joy, love, strength, and hope wash over me. Even though we are still at war and the sirens could sound at any time, I feel safer here than I did in Europe. There is something powerful about being surrounded by people who understand, endure, and choose LIFE. 🇮🇱Surprising my grandparents was the best!!! Their reactions said it all: I am home!!It was a LONG journey (over 24 hours — with a pit stop in London to see my cousin, Tash and go to The Room Where It Happens 💃), so I’m enjoying a rest before jumping in with both feet. Chag Pesach Sameach! Happy Passover! 🥳🫓My favorite time of year has arrived! I love gathering around the table with friends and family to retell the story of freedom and remember the unshakable faithfulness of our God. At Passover, we don’t just look back at the Exodus; we look forward and inward, celebrating Yeshua, our Messiah, who became the ultimate Passover Lamb and brought reconciliation through His sacrifice. Death was defeated; Yeshua is ALIVE! HALLELUJAH! 🙌🏼This year, I’m even more thankful I get to celebrate this holiday. I wasn’t sure I’d have a Seder night, but God opened the door for me to celebrate with long-time family friends. I can’t wait to bake my family’s traditional Passover cookies for everyone. 🤗However, even as we rejoice in the Messiah’s love, our hearts continue to carry a cry that echoes from Egypt to today: “Let my people go!” 59 hostages are still being held captive by Hamas in Gaza, reminding us that freedom is not just a story of the past, but a prayer for the present. Faith is not about keeping the gift of salvation for ourselves; it’s about pouring out what God has poured in!When we accepted Yeshua, Jesus, into our hearts, we became vessels of His grace. But let’s be honest: forgiving is hard. Loving our enemies? Even harder. Yet, Jesus died for the most wicked of sinners just as much as He died for you and me. Now, that doesn’t mean sin goes unpunished — God is just, and there are consequences for doing evil — but when we turn to Him and repent, our sins are washed clean, and we are forgiven. Right now, the world is in turmoil. Hatred is running rampant, and injustice is everywhere. It’s easy to look at someone and see the sins they have committed, forgetting that they, too, are souls needing salvation. If the Lord can see past our sins and grant us grace, forgiveness, and everlasting love, why can’t we extend the same to others? Many will reject the Lord, but that doesn’t mean we stop trying to reach them. After all, faith is not about receiving, accepting, and keeping the gift of salvation for ourselves. It’s about GIVING BACK! The Lord wants us to use what He pours into us to impact others. When we refuse to forgive or choose to operate in our flesh, we withhold the very thing God freely gives us! Today, let’s choose to be like Stephen, who got on his knees as he was stoned and prayed that the Lord would forgive his executioners (Acts 7:54-60)! If we only loved those who loved us back or forgave those who truly meant it, how would that set us apart from the world? It wouldn’t. Instead, Jesus challenges us in Luke 6:35-26 to go beyond what comes naturally, saying, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”The world doesn’t need more darkness; it needs light.
