I’ve been mulling over what to write about Meet Me in the Margins for weeks, and every time I sit down to write this review, I have to delete and rewrite it for the millionth time. So, in a last attempt to share my thoughts, let me start by saying that I found Meet Me in the Margins to be a witty and entertaining read. However, while I finished it quickly and had a few good laughs, I still can’t find the words to rave about it. Don’t get me wrong, the writing was good, and I love Melissa Ferguson; however, the characters didn’t capture me like her other novel, The Cul-de-Sac War. It was just too predictable and ultimately underwhelming. While romantic comedy enthusiasts will undoubtedly enjoy this novel, I can’t help but feel like this is a plot that has been and done one too many times.
