“I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.” ~ Job 42:2
Are you struggling to find an open door? Have you been praying for God’s guidance but, rather than stepping forward, you feel locked in place?
One of the greatest lessons we must learn as we grow in our relationship with Yeshua is trust. Do we trust Him when we or those around us declare something to be impossible? Will we step out in faith despite the voices telling us not to?
For a few years, I’ve been praying for the Father to show me where I am supposed to be; however, every time I think He’s about to call me elsewhere, the door closes, and I have no choice but to stay where I am. It can get really frustrating to feel like I am not where I’m supposed to be, but then God reminds me of all the lessons He’s teaching me during this season, and I’m once again brought back to the reality that no matter where I am in the world, I will only find purpose and true contentment when I remain in Him.
This month, my family has watched as all the doors have opened for my grandparents. Back in February, we applied for them to move into the only English-speaking, Messianic senior living home in Israel; however, after seeing the price and realizing my grandparents didn’t have enough in their savings, we wrote it off as an impossibility. Yet, despite our doubts, the doors continued to open until they were ultimately accepted into the home!! It was a miracle, but there was still something missing that threatened everything.
As we prayed about what we should do, we wrestled with doubt. Was this really the right move for them? Would they be happy there? Were we selfish for pushing this move? The more we wondered, the further from a decision we became. Then, on the night of Shavuot (Pentecost), my mom couldn’t sleep and felt the Lord tell her, “No man can close a door I have opened.” With that confirmation, we stepped out in faith and witnessed God provide the missing funds in just three days! It was like the moment we decided to listen to God, blocking out the worldly noise, all the doors suddenly swung open!
What has God been urging you to do, but you’ve been fighting back because doubt or outside noise is clouding the Voice of Truth? Is God truly the one telling you to stay in place, or are you holding yourself back?
It’s been incredible to watch the Father bless my grandparents with so much provision and blessings that I can’t help but stand in awe every time something amazing happens. What’s even more astounding is that our other prayers began to be answered once we took that step forward with my grandparents’ move! It was like a chain reaction! Transition is happening, and I can hear the Father telling me that it’s time to get ready because my turn is next!
Though waiting can feel like wandering in the desert, we learn so much and should not lose heart. Sometimes all it takes is one step of faith to reveal the hallway of doors we couldn’t see from behind the corner.
So, I want to encourage you this month – Ask the Father to reveal where He is calling you to go, and when you start to feel the urge that the time to move has come, step out in faith! It’ll be scary, but neither money, doubt, nor people can stand in the way of what God wants to do in your life!
Where are you placing your trust, in God or man?
Cleave to God! I can affirm that when we lean on His understanding above our own, we will never want for anything! God’s got His hand on each one of you and is holding the door so that we can take those first few steps into the new!
“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” (Matthew 6:27)
